i've seen the future, and you aren't in it

Code 46 (2004): it is eternal sunshine + american beauty + lost in translation + gattaca. the movie is beautiful with amazing colors and lighting. i can't believe that this movie basically got passed up last year. the music sets the most perfect tones in every scene. its a movie where you have to really think what is going on, but it all makes sense. its nothing like thx. the movie is set in the future and it is the most realistic future i've ever seen in a movie. its not spaceships and brand new concept cars and technology that probably won't come for another hundred years. it isn't hard to believe that life might look and feel the way they attempt it to be. the acting isn't the greatest thing i've ever seen, but it was still very good. ending isn't the happiest, but that's the point. the world of the future isn't the world today and people have changed. if we can control memories, then certain things won't begin to matter as much. who cares if bush creates another war because we can just wipe our memory of it and king george will just be another great prez. its a sad future, but a great movie. buy it.

while we are on this negative note, i just want to say that i hope that after i die, i can look down on this shit hole and watch us destroy everything. i want to have front row seats when the human race dies out because we are so retarded. every other day there is a new report about the ice caps melting, temperature rising, glaciers retreating, animals dying, forest disappearing, and more and more landfills getting full of tvs and computers. of course i'm partly to blame myself, but it just sucks. you would think that the tsunami would be a wake up call to the world about how fragile we all are, yet the memory of it will come and go. and of course the only person in the world that can make a difference is too retarded to join the rest of the world in fixing the problem (bush and the kyoto treaty and every other environmentally friendly act in the world). so while he and his cabinet drown in oil, guess i'll go back to avoiding public transportation. oh well.

hopefully the kiddies will make me proud

THX 1138 (1971): movies that are left to interpretation are great to watch, but movies where you have to interpret every single scene are awful. it was so confusing and the plot was far from coherent. i still have no clue about most of what went down in that movie. lucas may be a genius for some of his later work, but as far as this goes, its amazing this got produced at all. coppola should remove his name from any credits on this film. the only good that came out of this movie is a pretty sweet sound system for theaters. don't see. this is right up there with dune.

Meet the Fockers (2004): it had its funny moments and i really enjoyed hoffman and streisand. but it obviously didn't compare to the first. the jokes weren't that funny and the plot seemed to have been made up on the day of the shoot. they basically took everything from the first movie and tried to incorporate it with the fockers. i'm thinking it needed more owen wilson. he added a really nice touch to the first movie. you aren't gonna miss anything by not seeing this. you know they get married at the end and everyone is in that stupid little circle. but i'm sure some out there will really like it. you either do or you don't. i think it really doesn't deserve all the money its made. i'm all for deniro making the bills, but not this way. don't see.

Escape From the Planet of the Apes (1971): part 3 and like a fine wine, in the end, it going straight to the toilet. its now set in the 1970s and they had to come up with some massive plot holes to keep this sequel going. some of the story line makes no sense whatsoever. and its been queer-rized by throwing in terrible 70s pop culture and cheesy porno synthesizer beats. its lost every wonderful element that the first one had. however, it should be noted that its getting interesting to see how the story and future of the apes unfold. its like terminator or star wars where you know there is an inevitable future, but its all about how you get to it. i'm gonna say that you shouldn't see it, however after i'm all done watching them, i might have to go back on that statement. it will stand for now though.

then there was snowboarding. lets get the bad out of the way. i was still alone. i tried to go off a rail, but fell and landed on my tush and leg. still hurts as i type this. did a wonderful face plant into the snow after it got dark and i couldn't see the ground. went through a ton of trails in the trees, but it got pretty narrow and i ended up getting pretty acquainted with our wooden friends. and yelled at some 12 year olds on a lift who were kind enough to point out that their grandmother can ride faster than i. on a brighter note however, i'm getting really fast and don't fall nearly as much. i'm attempted to do little jumps here and there, but so far i'm having a tough time. my morale is sometimes low out there because everyone seems so amazing. i'm going to keep trying and will probably be back up there in two weeks. also got a sweet new stomp pad and a nice leash for my board.

speaking of sports, i've never really been into them that much. i played soccer when i was like 6, but i doubt you could count on me making the winning goals, or most likely any for that matter. i was never in any other sports on a team other than that year probably because we couldn't afford it. and besides, who wants the fat kid on their team? i remember playing tether ball of course, but what i loved more than anything was four-square. that was probably the first thing in life i was truly good at. we all had our own rules we'd call if we got to first square and i can probably still remember all 10 or so of mine if i tried. i dominated the court in my day. after that it was marching band if you count it as a sport. i don't see why you wouldn't though. it will be a sport in my book till the day i die and i'd like to see anyone argue that. later on when i had the money it became the batting cages. i'd blow $50 a week on that place and got amazing in the "fast" and decent in the "very fast" cages. that ended when qwest did. now instead of my hits i get blisters. and as you know, my professional sports days are just snowboarding. i picture myself being an old dad who is hopefully really good and can teach his kids at like age 4. i want them to be good at sports unlike what i ever was. i was far from a jock or any of the "cool" guys. just a fat kid on the soccer field.

they're no team zissou adidas, but they'll do Posted by Hello

juan manuel alvarez sucks my butt

The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976): not as visual and artsy as sergio leone's films, but just as entertaining. eastwood is still the same funny, mysterious, kick ass guy, who just wants a little peace and quiet, and to kill a few guys in the process. its a little long, but so much happens in the story that you don't mind it. stuff is always changing so it might seem overwhelming. i'd almost be willing to say that its an epoch western. whatever you want to call it, it is a western and eastwood at its best. buy it.

Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970): part 2 of the gripping saga. well not really. they should have ended it at the first one. the story is absolutely ridiculous and the special effects are awful since they got so little money to fund this movie. the ending is one of the worst ending i've ever seen. and guess what? they blew up the entire earth, yet somehow managed to make a third one which i'll be watching soon. the acting is decent, but can't make up for the absurdness of the movie. don't see it. and i can tell you right now, don't see any of the other sequels either. i'm not looking forward to them. and don't ask me why i'm bothering with them all. nothing better to do i guess.

Open Water (2004): there were some really tense moments in the movie. i liked how it started out and the plot moved along nicely. in order for a movie like this to be successful, you have to have believable characters and for the most part they were really good. there were some parts that i wondered about, but i think every person might act differently in their circumstance. the sharks freaked the crap out of me and i saw it only on my little tv screen. i bet it would be sweet to see it in a theater. the chick is pretty hot, so of course i gotta give it that. spoiler: as far as the ending goes, i wanted to see the scuba boat people that were responsible get some kind of punishment, like a fatty lawsuit or the death penalty for being retarded or something. i felt like they just got off scott free. and also, was she pulled under at the end by sharks or did she just kill herself? and how did he die? from shock or loss of blood? who knows. anyways, definitely worth seeing i think.

speaking of killing yourself, i'm sure you've all heard by now about the l.a. train that derailed and killed all those peeps because moron decided to kill himself, then changed his mind, but decided to not move the car off the tracks. first of all, if found guilty, we shouldn't give him the death penalty because that is what he wants. life in prison without parole is what i'm hoping for. that's a worse punishment. second of all, this is the really i won't kill myself is because it just screws up everything! never really solves anything and you just cause a mess back home. so word to the wise, don't use commuter trains to kill yourself, don't stab yourself unless you got the balls to go elliot smith style, and make sure you truly have nothing here on earth before you do it.

i got a scholarship yesterday for school this semester. i was so stoked to hear about it cuz i thought i'd have no chance. i applied last fall for a ton of them and sure enough got one from the school of business at my school for full tuition. yippy for me. think i'll celebrate by snowboarding tomorrow. and school is awful right now. first exam today and i haven't studied at all. so wish me luck.

aristotle didn't have a clue

The Aviator (2004): jack sucked, romeo was pretty good, but howard is leo's role of a lifetime. its hard to tell who is more deserving of the oscar; leo or jamie foxx. both are so believable. the plane scenes in the movie are some of the best special effects i've ever seen. really feels like you are on some ride during the dog fight. and cate blanchett was unreal. this movie is all scorsese though. as much as i would love to see eastwood win the award, it has to be martin. he deserves it more than anyone in the biz. plus you get to see lots of naked leonardo, if that's your thing. its definitely my thing. it is kind of long and it shows in parts, but its very worth seeing.

On the Waterfront (1954): it was okay. i'm sure it was amazing when it came out because its a pretty cool gangster story, but no one likes method acting today and i wasn't too impressed with brando. his character was kind of wimpy throughout the entire movie even until the end (i thought at least). you might say he had a ton of courage, but he was always so unsure of what he should do. again, great movie for '54, but 50 years later i don't think it stood the test of time. don't see.

The Best Years of Our Lives (1946): i was very impressed to see a movie that talked about the aftermath of the war. we've seen movies about the actual war from every angle so this was refreshing. and it should be noted that this movie came out only a year after the war ended. just makes it all the better. they did a superb job of showing nearly every possible scenario of life after the war. of course there are the unbelievable parts like how it takes 2 days to fall in love, but what do you expect from a 40's movie. that's just the way it is. great acting, interesting story, kinda long but its needed to play it all out. i'd say its worth seeing and it deserved best picture. and you gotta love those hollywood starlets! famous chicks today are a dime a dozen. except natalie. she's got starlet written all over her.

finished sopranos last night and boy what a way to end it. i did not see that one coming!!! now i'm just gonna cry each night as i wait for the next dvds to come out. i actually got teary-eyed watching the show last night. what a way to end. i think i committed my first ethical act yesterday. i had to sign up for this law school thing online and had to report all my past schools i've attended. well i had been planning to not include my little semester at CU because i got like a D+ and a B or something. didn't need that screwing up my GPA. but i figured they will probably find those records whether or not i report it or not, so i might as well do it. so basically i probably won't get into any law schools now because of this "good deed" i did. my GPA is now crap because of it, but so long as i'm honest i guess. i'm still bitter about being good, if you even count this as a good deed. my motives are suspect since i'm only doing it because i'm sure i'd get caught in the end. but you all keep thinking i'm good.

and lets talk about girls wanting guys that are badasses. i hate that!!! it is such a ridiculous concept. why can't girls like normal guys? not the retard that lets the girl walk all over him, but the guy right in the middle. the golden mean. i am the golden mean but no one ever saw that. sorry, but i've been wanting to get this off my chest for some time now. guess that serves a nice lesson: if you want the girl, beat them up.

WOOOOOEEIIIEPIGSOOOOUIIIE!!!!!!!!!!

quote of the day:

Imagine making a movie about a suburban white family from Ohio, (we'll call them the Griswald's), going for a family vacation to Disneyland. Unfortunately through a series of wrong turns they wind up in Compton where the daughter gets raped by a couple African Americans (with gold caps on their teeth), while Usher's music plays in the background. You'd also have to include a crack ho Mom on welfare and 5-8 underprivileged children. -J
by the way, i'm gonna grow my hair out. not sure what i'm gonna do with it once its grown or how i'm going to style it, but we'll see. this should be interesting. my goal is to not cut it the entire semester, but who knows, this could last about a week and i'll chop it. time will tell.

eight u.s. presidents can't go wrong

Around the World in 80 Days (1956): hard to believe a movie like this being made without blue screen being used. the effects they used were amazing. well, all except for the arrows being shot at them and literally bouncing off of their bodies. in fact, the whole native american scene was terrible. they portrayed them in the worst way. the movie sometimes feels like it takes 80 days to get through, but its worth it. makes it interesting and somewhat suspenseful wondering if he is going to make it or not. at first i found it crazy how this movie could have won best pic over giant, the king and i, and the ten commandments. but you really just gotta see it to understand. and also, watch it and you'll understand tenfold more about mellon collie and the infinite sadness. guess i'm just way out of touch.

Manhattan (1979): a movie everyone needs to see. this is a call to arms people. every now and then i tell you to see certain movies and to break out of your little shell. this is one of those moments. it is a beautiful movie with wonderful and deep characters. it gives a great look at every possible aspect of a relationship. woody allen is a comedic genius in this movie. when you watch it, just try and realize how much of the scenes are all improv by the actors. you'll have such an appreciation for some of the most real acting you'll ever see on the screen. and george gershwin's score could not be more perfect. that little faggot randy newman blasted allen for having such a powerful score. you just stick with your cartoons randy. monsters inc had some great music if i remember correctly. actually i don't, so go to hell. movie is near perfect as is his portrayal of the city. buy it.

All the King's Men (1949): an okay movie at best. nothing special about it except the fact that bush must have studied this movie his whole life and got all his best traits from it. it is seriously george bush in a nutshell. except the assassination part (then again, we still got four more years. here come the secret service knocking on my door). the reality of politics is a sad thing, but you don't need this movie to tell you that. don't see it. go read the newspaper instead.

speaking of assassination, you know that niffty little fact about every president who has been elected on a year that ends in zero has either been killed in office, died in office, or an assassination has been attempted. i haven't looked this up to verify, although i know this is the case for at least the majority. well, bush was elected in 2000, but to much disappointment, no one has gotten past his army. during this last election i thought this little curse was going to be broken for the first time and he would be the first to get through without a single injury (except when he fell off that segway. i thought those things were retard-proof.). but, looks like he's got four more years for people to start plotting. so, if all goes as planned, this should make for an interesting presidency.*

at work now and super sad because we got 1 episode left for the sopranos. who knows how long we are gonna have to wait for season 5 to come out on dvd or six feet. nothing is going on. i finally got a nice schedule for each week of when i do my homework. i hope i can stick with it though. and yeah, still sad about not snowboarding on friday. this week i don't care if i get zero sleep at all, i'll go no matter what. i'm trying to plan some sort of trip for spring break. think i got it narrowed down to lake tahoe or phoenix. pretty random places, but that's what we get for living the middle of nowhere. i'm trying to hit up places that will have a hard rock cafe, and believe it not, those are the closest that i haven't been to. its still way in the works, meaning i'm sure it won't happen.

i got some tight new kicks last week. my first pair of etnies i've ever owned. not only that, but this is the first time i've owned like two pairs of new tennis shoes at once. finally i have more than one option in the morning.

*this is not an endorsement for his death or me hinting that it will happen or that i will be involved in it. sadly, i've got like 150 movies i still need to watch, so even if i wanted to take part in such an occasion, i just don't have the time.

hey guys, my cd i bought from you doesn't work. not a way to make the fans. Posted by Hello

i have no life

Lawrence of Arabia (1962): i've seen more camels and sand than any man should in a lifetime. the movie ended up being like 4 hours long and could have been cut back to like one and a half. the main character's personality is so confusing to follow. i guess i could see how it could win best picture, but not over to kill a mockingbird. the ending was awful and the story confusing. this was the movie that i struggled to get through over the course of a few days and was falling asleep through, but i made it. you get the idea though. don't see it.

Sleepers (1996): another movie that should have been cut down by like an hour. they tried to desperately make this a huge crime saga. the movie focused so much on when they were kids, that by the time it gets to the main actors of the movie, you could care less about them. in fact, brad, deniro, hoffman, and bacon, who all got the main billing, were hardly in the movie. the 4 kids should be up there instead, but big names sell i guess. its just too drawn out. don't see it. well, see it if you like to watch little boys getting sodomized, but other than that, its not worth it.

The Apartment (1960): this turned out being a decent movie. you never realize that such taboo subjects were being shown in movies during this time frame (see the movie to know what i'm talking about). hard to believe they got away with such things. i'm sitting here trying to think of complaints, but don't have too many. its a goofy story with some goofy characters, but its all cute at the same time. watch for the great medical practices of the 1960s. that alone makes it worth seeing. if you want more detail about the movie, just think of jack lemmon as today's loser character of ben stiller, and shirley maclaine, well she's not really anyone today, but she looks hot in the movie so just go with me. see it. this is a movie they could completely do a remake on, so you could just wait till then.

so i'm in all these ethic classes at school now, but turns out i think i'm one of the most unethical people i know. i cheat, lie, steal, break the law, and who knows what else to get ahead. i can't believe i even have friends right now because i'm pretty terrible. one of the teachers keeps asking the question if ethics can be taught or not. if it can't be taught, i'm not sure why these classes are required. the sad part is that i'm sure this will carry into my hopeful law profession. my only saving grace is that i feel very strongly when it comes to principle. i don't know. its weird cuz i would only be unethical to people that deserve it or when i'm the only one effected by it. let me hear a shoutout for victimless crimes!!!

was supposed to go snowboarding today but bailed out cuz i got to bed so late. i'm so freaking sad about it now and regret not going. oh well. time for more movies.

why?

life is too hard for me. i'm not sure if i was supposed to have been a person during this time on earth. maybe i should have lived on a farm in like 800 A.D. its just too hard and i'm at a point where i don't know how much more i can take. i don't need the comments telling me to quit whining and to get over it. you guys are just better equipped to handle life i guess. i'm just done trying.

youth's like diamonds in the sun, and diamonds are forever

Ocean's Twelve (2004): i know there was a lot of bad hype against the movie, but get over people. you all know you liked the movie. it really wasn't that bad. sure its not as good as the first, but its also not as good as a good night's sleep; doesn't it make it bad though. so much goes on in the movie that it gets a little difficult to keep track of everything, but its all tied up very nicely at the end. good screen time given to each actor (apart from bernie mac's 5 minutes in the movie. disappointed about this.) all in all, a great movie with lots of funny moments and a clever plot. and don't forget i want george clooney to bare my children. buy it.

In the Heat of the Night (1967): just another movie that helps me to keep hating the south, racists, and most events in american history. as far as the plot goes, it becomes a stretch in going along with what is happening and how poitier figures the mystery out. i remember hating the tv show when i'd watch reruns in elementary school, but the movie wasn't half bad. its nothing striking though except for poitier's performance. next to snoop dogg, he is the greatest black actor. don't see it. nothing special.

In Good Company (2005): i found it kind of boring and slow. could have been because i had a lot on my mind at the time of the movie, but it just didn't do anything for me. (spoiler!): i saw little character development between the two main guys and was kind of sad that the two didn't hook up in the end. some movies its okay that the two don't hook up because there is so much deeper stuff going on than having to worry about the little love story, but this was a cut and dry movie. got me thinking about getting old, having kids, my career, and so forth. good acting, but doesn't save the thin plot. don't see.

its the middle of the night and i'm at work pulling a double shift. not happy about this but need the moola for this year's trip, law school crap, and snowboarding. i hope to sleep forever tonight since there actually is not going to be an officer on. basically i just sit here and wait for alarms to go off, which they never do of course. its basically a waste of my time except i get to do homework and watch movies. didn't get anything done today. not a lick of homework. went out to lunch today and just hung out though which was pretty fun actually.

i have sometimes daydreamed a nightmare about what it would be like if the people i love and care about had no recollection of me. its like i wake up one day and i know everyone as i do now, but when i talk to them, no one recognizes me or knows who i am. i try and tell them who i am and give them examples of personal things i know of them, but its no use. its a scary thing actually. seems to be one of the worst things that could happen to me. i'm really rambling right now because i'm so tired. this blog is really childish and high schoolish. i guess i'm okay with that though. i don't look forward to the day when life if routine and i'm just an old man. i guess the drama keeps life interesting now. i hate birthdays. if it wasn't for the presents, i'd try my hardest to forget them altogether.

squeal like a pig!

Deliverance (1972): felt like a stanley kubrick film. seemed to have very little point to it. basically, don't go into uncharted woods and rivers. the role of burt reynolds is very overrated. i can see how it would freak people out back then. kinda freaked me out watching it all unfold, its just that there was no deep story to it all. the hillbillies and most of the acting was pretty believable, but just not enough to salvage the movie. don't see. and the dueling banjo alien guy. what's up with him?

La Vueve de Saint Pierre (2001): nice to throw a good foreign flick into the mix every now and then to spice things up. you just get a nice realism that you can't find in most hollywood movies. good period piece that has a wonderful mood throughout the movie. the characters are believable and you feel for each one, either through pity, hatred, love, etc. most english films can't even do this and this one hooked me even with subtitles. its very well done, but don't expect all the hoopla of your typical hollywood movie. its like a book. just some paper, ink, and a binding, yet filled with extraodinary things. see it.

The Game (1997): i've seen this before, but it was recently recommended to me that i watch it again since i had forgot most of it. not too many complaints about this one. its by the great david fincher which is always good. spoiler, so beware: i wonder about the end though. who in their right mind would put anyone through all of that because they love them. what a terrible way to show someone that! makes it a little unbelievable. and the fact that it would have cost millions to put on such an elaborate "game." did sean penn's character think he would be able to afford it all? wouldn't they have needed the money up front? what if michael douglas died in the middle of it all? who would they have gotten their money from? despite my nitpicking, an amazing movie and probably worth buying once i've gotten around to buying everything else i need.

so many movies i can't keep up with the reviews. this past week has consisted of me either watching movies, doing homework, sopranos, going to hollywood video, work, sleep, food, and maybe a shower or two. at any point of the day, you'll find me doing something from that list. did find time to go snowboarding on saturday with kim for the first time. she really wants to do it again so hopefully we'll be able to make it back up there. just got done with the golden globes. not too happy with some of the outcomes like the sopranos not winning a single globe!! what's up with that? i was freaking thrilled to see my girl natalie win one though. made my night!

on a side note, i'm really falling behind with my homework. american idol starts soon. no school tomorrow (thank you reverend king). joined some national honor fraternity society with annual dues just so i can puff up my resume and law school apps. can't remember what they are called. wanna coppa feela or something like that. and i'm finally watching a movie that i'm not sure if i can even make it through the whole thing. that's how bad it is. you'll soon know if i make it or not.

and as far as the whole jAx thing, i never did respond to her last comments a couple weeks back. i had a ton of good stuff i wanted to say to bring her down, but i just stopped caring. kind of funny because after all of this . . .
  • i'm a dick to kim
  • i should get a real job
  • i should get someone else to fetch my dinner
  • she hopes kim doesn't divorce my ass
  • she's an idiot to stay with me
  • i'm bad with the church
  • she doesn't want to be friends with kim or i any longer
  • kim is verbally abused and manipulated by me
  • school is an excuse for kim to support my lavish lifestyle
  • as a lawyer i won't be able to support kim (this makes no sense but whatever floats her boat)
. . . she emailed me the day of her last post and asked for an apology and said she thought her original apology would have sufficed. funny because i don't remember an original one, but then again i am getting pretty old. she wanted to call a truce and not leave on bad terms (not sure where either of us are going). maybe i am cold blooded (unity!!), but not really interested in a truce. i get apologies all the time from various people, some i'm willing to accept, some i'm not. just because someone apologizes, does not make things better. there are times when people can cross lines into a realm of unforgiveness (yes, i made up this word. sue me. soon i'll be a lawyer who makes no money, so please give me the work). sorry jAx, but for these reasons and the nicely bulleted comments above, i will decline your truce and will not accept your alleged apology. i hope you and kim remain friends cuz she really likes you. i don't think you deserve her as a friend, but that's just my opinion and don't worry, you aren't the first to not like my opinion. actually, i don't recall anybody ever liking my opinion. i hope to still see brian every now and then, but as for you, you are still welcome in the un-fan club.

¡la primera for life ese!

American Me (1992): surprisingly very well done. i've been wanting to see this movie ever since i joined that one gang in fresno. this movie is a ton like the godfather, only with l.a. gangs. the actors all seem so authentic. so if you're lookin to see a movie about real life gang and prison crap, you really should take a gander. if you aren't looking for that, you should still watch it cuz its really just a good movie. watch out for that shank in the butt though. i hear it will just ruin your whole day.

The Color Purple (1985): is there a steven spielberg directed movie that isn't worth buying? well, besides jaws of course. i used to hate both whoopie and oprah with a passion, but i have a completely new respect for both after seeing this movie. i seriously feel like a changed man now. now granted, it gets boring at times despite the entire story being very unique and interesting. just kind of drags, but acting acting acting!! i swear this is what can make or break a movie. don't go out and snatch this one right off of the shelf, but put it on your backup list of dvds to buy. can you believe, 11 nominations and not a single win? terrible! (although out of africa was deserving of winning that year but come on now!!)

so hollywood video is gay. spent forever last night with those rejects trying to fix my account the mr. store director screwed up when i got the movie pass. got screwed paying more money that i wanted to now. tomorrow is snowboarding day in my world. finally gonna get kim up there and do it. it will be so nice to not be alone. and i know the mountains have been getting dumped on so it should be verrrry nice. i really got nothing else right now. last few days consisted of me doing homework for my legal ethics class and that stupid online class i'm doing. been swamped with that and watching movies. oh, and don't forget sopranos!!! haven't been that excited to do something since, well i can't remember when. first two episodes have been fantastic!!! its like i never left jersey.

_th_n _ll_n ch_mb_rs . . . sweeeeet!

White Noise (2005): all these movies are just a rip off of every other recent scary movie. i think the number one thing that makes a scary movie good these days is originality. the basic premise for most of these is: if you do x (go inside a house, watch a video, go see a crazy guy about how you can reach the dead, attempt to reach the dead, see crappy movies), then x will make it inevitable that you will die and there is nothing you can do about it. its already been done so people need to stop. plus, this movie left me with a ton of questions. wasn't really clear on who the bad guys were. the three stooges maybe? finally, the movie was slower than the english patient. don't see.

i've gotta pee so bad that i can barely type. may be forced to hold myself and type with one hand. can't leave my little hole though because during the day at work can sometimes get busy. i realized a few days ago that my name has only two vowels, a and e. and each of these vowels in used only once in my first, middle, and last name. weird huh? i'm excited cuz i'm going to hollywood video today to hopefully get a movie pass for the month.

new years was kinda depressing as always. i've grown to hate this holiday more than any other. its always the saddest because you reflect on all the crap during the year prior, realize that it seems like only yesterday it was 2001, and realize all the crap you have to look forward to the next 12 months. kim, kar, and ryan and i all hung out in kar's basement and just played games and snacked on some tasty food ala ryan. at first wasn't too excited about doing all that. would have much rather been partying it up downtown. of course it turned out fun as i knew it would, but it just sucks watching all the hoopla going on around the world and knowing i can't be a part of that. plus i had to watch ashlee simpson try to sing again. she looked pretty hot though, i'll give her that.

right when we got to denver i found out our old friends would be playing in their band at hard rock. super stoked to see that. so ryan and laci and i headed up to denver, got there nice and early for our old buddies sloan, joe, and mr. chris depew. their band is called singlefile and not too bad i might add. i have a few complaints, but regardless, its amazing to hear them live, know they have two e.p.'s, a website, merchandise, and are on a little u.s. tour. it actually kind of makes me sick because i'm so jealous. so happy to see it all happening for sloan and chris. joe on the other hand i could care less about. just more food to feed his fat head. anyways, everyone needs to check them out at www.singlefilerock.com. i'm sure none of you will enjoy their style, but its one of my few half ass claims to fame. and by the way, not sure why but laci was a bitch that night. just had to get that off my chest.

oh and we played a lot of trivia at old chicago. had never done that before and found it rather enjoyable. i would recommend it with a side of garlic cheese bread next time you and your mates find yourself without anything to do for the night. cheerio all.
